Belated April Haul [Large]

24 09 2009

Boob laser finish ftw

There are many notable acquisitions in this haul, but I’d say that Kos-Mos is the centerpiece of it all. Once again to reiterate to readers – both regular and passerby – that my haul posting is not geared to make people salivate with envy nor is it some attempt to boast at what I own. I merely post what I like because I like it and can do it. Salivating is at your discretion. This is a NSFW post due to the nature of some of the items that is part of this haul. I’ll give you a hint – there is a particular Queen’s Blade solicitation bonus.
Depending on certain extraneous factors going on in life, I may or may not post something in the near future. I’ll just have to wait and see the outcome of things, but this is a heads up that I’ll be around but not really…

Thanks dude for the cool picture!

Sega Dreamcast Tribute ~ 10th Anniversary

13 09 2009

Dreamcast, oh, how I love thee!

On September 9, 1999 (coolest release date ever), the revolutionary Sega Dreamcast was released as Sega’s last hurrah after a series of steady decline in response to a lukewarm or lack thereof reception to the Sega Saturn, 32x, and Sega CD. Despite it’s untimely decline and ultimate fall after only a 3-year run, its presence and contributions are still felt worldwide coming into the next era of console gaming.

This is a brief, yet humble homage to a console that was well before it’s time.

Belated April Haul [Medium]

8 09 2009

After being poked at by someone *ahem* for having the brown packages as a primary picture/teaser for this post and another one, I decided to put up a picture of one of the figures in this haul XD

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly ~ Figure Store Review Edition ~

6 09 2009

Disclaimer

These store critiques serve as the sole basis to educate and inform those with as broad a range of an online shopping experience in the anime otaku market from nil to expert about how green or adept my own experiences have been molded through my interactions with these stores. As always, there might or might not be a severe discrepancy to other reviews of exact stores that you may have read or found out in some way. While each individual takes from his or her own experience, I am merely adding my own two cents to help broaden the spectrum of the integrity of stores that you shop or may potentially shop at. Be as it may, this is the interwebs and you are more than welcome to take my ramblings with a grain of salt. In the same token, I am an insanely hardcore collector and will simply not shop at certain places unless I am, ultimately, left with no other alternatives.

Honesty is the best policy and I am a brutally honest person. This store review will be unlike what you have experienced before as I don’t plan to sugar coat or skim through the superficial surface to expose what I feel is pertinent information about where you go throw your hard earned cash at.

Belated April Haul [Small]

21 08 2009

So, when you start working as much as me, you get hardly any time to yourself. This is the first part of me playing catch up.

Edit: I looked at the picture and wondered why that picture had three packages and this post obviously doesn’t have enough content to fill the size of those packages. I took the actual haul and separate hauls on very different occasions and this is what we have here.

Hi, I’m limited. Do you want me?

26 07 2009

Don’t mind me lying seductively here.

In practically every form that a hobby takes shape in, there is bound to be seemingly obtainable objects or commodities that are valued and held at a higher esteem than the rest of the bunch. You might be familiar with terms such as “exclusive”, “rare”, “limited”, “premium” and the ilk. Such verbiage tagged onto these commodities in addition to the element(s) that separates these items from “special” and “regular” can very well become the bane of a collector’s bank account. As a collector and enthusiast for both video games and figures, I, too, know what this feeling of aggravation, excitement and regret all wonderfully mixed into a colorful cocktail in regards to dealing with “limited” items.

This post is meant to express my stance on the more difficult aspects of figure collecting, provide insight on these dreadful things that I oh so love so much, and convey why it is that I continue to do what I do.

Warning: The opinion and view expressed henceforth are merely the sole opinion of the author.

[Really] Post E3 Haul

20 07 2009

A late E3 post that was meant to be written and published approximately around the time E3 was going on, but became inevitably delayed to time constraints. There are a lot of posts lingering in limbo right now, but this was one that I really wanted to write about. I love video games after all <3

1 year and 478 figures later…

15 06 2009

Here is a recap of my hauls tracked through thumbnails and posts that summarize a year of collecting for me. I’ll try my best to remember things, but my humble beginnings are a bit shrouded in mystery and I can’t exactly pinpoint the first day I started to collect figures or the very last figure I got before I hit the yearly mark.

WARNING: This is a very heavy image post and is not advisable for those who have slow internet connections.
