(ALTER Kos-Mos – Orange another color ver. – and Alice boost ver. 2p Post limited; Max Factory Shana Dengeki Magazine mail-in limited; Good Smile Company Yako nendoroid and Lucky Star shrine limited petite set)
[Overdue haul. Received this late February and only just got this up; Update: My eyes hurt even more and still not sleeping well]
My orange limited Kosy arrived some time in mid-February. Actually, a bunch of these limiteds arrived early, but got shipped later because my friend was so busy and couldn’t get to them. I remember at the forum that I am part of, a bunch of people requested this figure for preorder. They would be able to stock a limited amount with a $140 pricetag. I preordered this for around the same price as the regular released version if not lesser. There are other people who are able to obtain this sexy figure because of evilbay now. The original prototype had a more mustard color for the orange, but this is still nice. I don’t consider this a true repaint as it’s just a simple orange trim on the bikini and the limited sticker status. This is the reason why I love Megahouse and their repaints because not only are they the same cost as the regular versions, but the repaints actually have more effort in it.
This is gonna be short, but from what I said about the original Kos-mos version. There is absolutely nothing wrong with her. She’s statuesque at 1/6 scale and I’m slowly amassing my Kosy army. Without even realizing it, I am at 6 Kosys (1 is a double). All that I am missing is the rare MegaHobby event exclusive Kos-Mos ~T-elos version – which I’ve already gotten and it’s only a matter of shipping at this point. This (T-elos ver.) is the first attempt at a true repaint by ALTER.
Now, I know a lot of people are turned off by the sheer pink in this figure. When I first found out about this figure, I cursed out loud because this would be another limited figure. I really like the original version aka bondage version of boost Alice, but this limited pink version has a lot of appeal for me, too. Even though it is nauseatingly pink and not an awesome repaint like Megahouse Queen limited variants, the sculpt and quality is still phenomenally awesome. I think had this been Megahouse, the repaint would have been amazing. Despite whatever criticism there is for this figure, she is extremely limited. The site went down for a few days for the preorder. At that point, it went down again because people kept checking the website about any news pertaining this figure. The release for this figure was on the 28th of January. The preorder would only be available for as many figures were available. It was so bad that the website had to designate 3 days with two times where the preorder would open up for an alloted amount. I asked a friend to get this to me. Unfortunately, each day was met with a 30 minute delay because the site was down before getting a “sold out” message. The final hope was to enter a raffle just to own this figure. Out of nowhere, there was the Post limited Alice waiting at the mail place. To my astonishment, I could not believe that my friend was picked in the raffle. Afraid that I would miss out on my birthday/V-day’s gift, I got another one. So, now, I own two limited Alices, haha.
Strawberry Alice, as I affectionately call her, is very beautiful. I like how this version is more sweet in relation to the BDSM version. Another reason why I gravitated to getting this one instead of the original version is because I can find the original version for 50% off of her price. The original one normally retails for $99 stateside.
This picture from the box is ripped straight from the art book. It’s funny how loli Alice by AlphaxOmega blossomed into the ALTER Alice boost ver. Quite an extreme change, if you ask me. Well, it’s not so extreme within the realm of anime.
This is another gimmicky limited petit set by Good Smile Company. Similar to the Ochugen or Bon Festival Haruhi petit swimsuits – which is no longer rare in my opinion -, this petite set was available through online order or at selective stores. I bit and got these because they are very cute. Then, Good Smile decided to go insane and sell orange limited variants in the parking lot of the Washinomiya shrine. It is utterly ridiculous to even do such a thing. I am a limited whore and want to minimize inflation as much as possible, so I have those orange limiteds paid off, too.
This is another limited Shana figma. The nendoroid of the same hair color is limited as well. I’ve seen this figma up for preorder at $60. I got this for less than half of that. I was amazed that Play-Asia was able to procure this limited figma to relatively close to how much I paid for it. I don’t particularly own figmas since I prioritize scaled figures, but if it’s a limited figma then I will order it. Figmas are relatively easy to find at good prices still.
I added this nendoroid for $25 because I missed out on a preorder for a good price. That’s the flaw with ordering at selective places. You want to order it at that place that you wait and wait to see if it will ever go up for preorder. I really like the guy counterpart with the bird mask. Yako has a face that makes her look as if she is from South Park. Her eyes are ridiculously bug-eyed and enormous, haha.
@Jem-chan: Ahh, the satisfying feeling of a “limited” release! Though I must say, when u said “Strawberry Alice”, I immediately thought of that ero-ecchi “Strawberry” girl figure with her clothes half-torn off. Do u remember her? But I don’t remember if she had a name though…

So many alternate limited figures in one go o_o , and here and there I see quite a few people acquiring the black hair figma Shana.
Wasn’t too fond of the black hair ver. in the beginning and I was content with the normal flaming hair ver, but then the real pictures came up and I started regretting it (the promo pics didn’t do the justice!), and at the end I’ve managed to get one on auction -_- , though luckily the price is not bad for a limited figure~
The orange ver of kos-mos is nice but if i had to choose one over another it would be the blue one
when you do want to display your figures, I think you probably have to order a custom display case lol
j/w with the current amount of figures you have is it possible to cover each wall of your whole place? more even multiple layers even! a figure wall ^^
@Jay: Oh, gross. I’ve seen that “strawberry” figure. Sorry, I’m not in the slightest bit into pedophilia, haha. That figure is really ugly, terrible subject matter AND it’s shiny like a bootleg. This “strawberry” Alice is definitely of age. I believe her figure name had “strawberry” in it. My Alice is only affectionately called “strawberry” for me, but she’s really a Post website exclusive or 2p ver.

@Q: I’ve seen her offered for $60 at one place and $30 something at another. I got her for a regular figma MSRP. I am so-so with figmas, but hell yes with limiteds. She is nice, but I still prefer scaled over non-scaled. The Dengekiya ltd nendoroid is cute as a button. Price is definitely not bad at all if you know where to look^^ Thanks for stopping by, Q.
@balance: The original is definitely nice. I prefer T-elos over both of them. Yes, I’m gonna have to design the blueprint for a custom display case to be their home.
At this moment, I have the living room wall almost covered, but chose to stack them elsewhere in fear of an earthquake. Plenty more has been put away. It literally is a wall-o-figures. :{
