(Good Smile Company – WF 2008 Joymax, Kyouka Midarezaki, Re Mie, and complete Lucky Star Vol. 2 petite set; pictured later is Clay Hobby Japan limited Nijihara Ink)
This is a rather late post for this haul considering that this shipment had arrived earlier last week and the rest arriving sometime this week as well. Now’s a better time than ever to post about this. Relative to my old haul, this is probably a light sprinkle.
I probably should’ve gotten this shipped together with the other things around the same time span, but it’s hindsight now. The funny thing about this package was that it arrived in that plastic bin you see right there as opposed to conventional shipping methods such as a box. I much prefer this because I can, now, utilize the plastic bin for something in the future. This is a very cute nendoroid that I’m quite unfamiliar with her background. She has this one face that is equivalent to (O.o) a bug-eyed expression. There is another expression where she looks pissed, but I prefer the bug-eyed expression still. There are bells on her and I imagine that they are legit bells that make sounds if shaken.
I already own the Kotona counterpart to this nendoroid and was waiting for Re Mie to be part of someone’s bargain bin sale. Unfortunately for me, I have never seen her for a discounted price that would warrant a purchase. The cheapest I’ve seen her is 1000 Yen, but it still wasn’t worth it. As much as I wanted a complete duo, I wasn’t willing to pay 34.99 for her. I paid way less for Kotona – it was nendoroid retail price but shipping was already included. I finally found her for $24, so I am quite pleased.^^ They have unique bases akin to playground animals that are mountable. I have read from a number of sources that they are hard to pose in their default nendoroid base. Kotona is much cuter, but I’d like to see Re Mie in pvc form preferably by Max Factory to match my scaled Max Factory Kotona.
This is a WF 2008 nendoroid that I’ve seen for over $75. I snatched this for $28 and added her/him/shim along with my purchase of Re Mie and the complete Lucky Star Vol. 2 box set. A lot of people hate this nendoroid and find it very peculiar. I am not really one to go with conventions and I am trying to amass an army here, so I’d eventually end up picking up this strange one. Well, I can’t justify over $40 for this even if it’s limited because this is one of those products that was meant for Japanese only due to the connotations very much like the Billy Herrington figma. I don’t remember if this is based off on a joke on the producer or creator of the Nitro+ games. Suffice to say that the character being mocked is someone of importance over at Nitro+. If you don’t know, Nitro+ is an eroge company famous for bringing beautiful women that are completely bad ass, excellent character designs and unfettered orgy fests. The clothes are based off of Al Azif’s character – another famous resident of Nitro+ eroges. This nendoroid has a fluffy afro and even comes with a hot pink feather boa. How amazingly flamboyant! If you’re like me and are amassing a nendoroid army, then Joymax undoubtedly will belong in your collection. As an interesting note, the person this is modeled after is an eccentric individual.
Not featured here, but will be talked about is the Lucky Star Vol. 2 complete box set. It would have been nice to get that spare figure since a case holds 12 boxes, but I’m just so happy to have a complete set for retail price. This is a fairly expensive box set to complete due to the petit extra Konata cosplaying as Saber. There is only one another alternative to owning that and it is the WF set that had the Lucky Star characters cosplaying as Saber and Rin from Fate/Stay Night. The petit is very cute, but once again, I’m not about to pay $15+ for a petit nendoroid. I paid $62 for the set. Unlike many nendoroid collectors, I typically don’t buy the actual box sets, themselves, as there are always scaled figures that I am more concerned with AND I am more interested in the actual nendoroids. Go figure. I’m pretty glad that I didn’t pay retail for the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Vol. 3 petit nendoroid set which features the gang in rock ‘n roll outfits because it is not all that popular at all. I’m guessing people prefer something when it is iconic unless they happen to be Sega Prize figures.
My gosh, I completely spazzed (sp) out and forgot to add Nijihara Ink. Nijihara Ink is a Clayz figure that was only made available throug mail-in order back last year. The deadline for her ended sometime in March or May with many people scrambling to find where to get her, if possible. I was one of those people as I didn’t find out about her limitation until way after the fact. Suddenly, there were people on Tsuki board who got ordered her. Apparently, Benippon opened up orders for her at $95 or so. My birthday was automatically notified on Tsuki board where members wished me a happy birthday. From the stream of well wishes and hopes for me to get more nice stuff, there was a pm that stood out from the rest of them. While I was at work, I opened up the pm finding it a bit suspicious with a message stating
“Happy Birthday! ^0^
May all your dreams come true.
I got something for you that you might like. ^^”
I clicked on the link and it was an eBay listing for her on evilbay for $84. I must have freaked out at work because I was caught up in my emotions. The seller listed it as “Moetan” which made me a little peculair whether or not it would be her because the price was too good to be true even though the listing featured the Hobby Japan exclusive. Without much thought, I quickly did intelligent thing with a BIN. This is, in fact, the real deal and a dream come true despite how crappy my pictures are. The flash on the camera is dead. So, I refer to you the actual scan for her. I’ve seen this figure run up quite high and wasn’t gonna drop some money into her even though she is part of the Queen’s universe and needs to be inlisted in the army.
I would to take the time to thank Mona_sama for finding the link and giving me the opportunity to get a limited figure without bludgeoning my wallet.

@Blow: Yes. Buggy eye ftw! I really like it. It makes me laugh. I bought Kyouka from E2046 as you can tell by the plastic bin. It’s kind of hard to get a $29.99 price on the newer nendoroids. I’ve seen places that have Nagi for $41.99. It must be the hype and popularity machine.
That is so sweet concerning your LS Vol. 2 picks. I wonder how your brother looked when you snatched up the Konata cosplay Saber petit. If he looked anything like Anakin when he says, “Noooooooo”, then I can get a pretty clear image in my head. And you also got Kuroi-sensei. Yep, you definitely got the best of that set.

I just watched BSG episode 16 tonight with dinner (half-sub sandwich and carrots drenched in Miracle Whip, mmmm). Episode not bad, not great, but getting interestingly weird, lol. Almost as if they’re trying to lose us or distract us from a masterful finale. But who knows yet?
Sales at Ralph’s? What’s Ralph’s? A discount ramen shop? Hehe, some of my back-up rations includes buttered Minute Rice with a can of salmon, mmmm… Nahhh, my Mom’s cool, never gets mad. At least not with her sons. But Dad? That’s a different story, haha. Background? You mean nationality? Filipino if that’s what u meant. But I’ll send her flowers. Yup, I’m in Vegas, but they’re still in New York, ever since I was born there. Though I wish I had the opportunity (and vacation time AND money AND friends, lol) to visit the Strip more often.
